Gender-based Violence Mobile App in Humanitarian Settings

Digital Solutions for GBV Assessment, Incident Reporting and Referral

Synegys is supporting HHA Burundi, an NGO in Burundi to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) with an innovative mhealth solution – iGBV.

As a practical demonstration of our corporate values and philanthropic convictions, we are working with HHA Burundi to prevent and respond to GBV in low-and middle-income countries.

William Eng – Managing Director

Leveraging Synegys’ expertise in the areas of field workforce mobility and mobile health, the solution aims to standardise and optimise workflow – identifying survivors and linking them to GBV services. The screening process is scalable with trained non-professionals using iGBV. Each screening event will be captured electronically, with referral pathways managed and monitored by providers. As part of safety planning, iGBV will also be a decision aid for survivors, supporting informed decision-making related to safety. Using SMS technology, GBV incident data from remote areas can be shared with providers.
